But I'm not allowed to play with them until Christmas Day. Of course that doesn't mean I have to wait until then to make clothes for them or purchase lovely, expensive, REAL LEATHER shoes & boots. It took me a little while to decide on the following, but they are on their way and I should have them next week.

I also ordered some pretty corduroy fabric to make coats or maybe overalls for three of my dolls, two of which match closely with the Warners boots.

All those shoes are so nice, and the colors of corduroy that you chose make a nice color story. I'm trying to be creative, but finding it somewhat uphill work. However, I'll try to put a post together soon with the two things that I'm working on.
ReplyDeleteI love colour co-ordinating my dollies clothes, but sometimes it can all go wrong because although the shoes/boots might match the fabrics online, in reality they turn out to be quite different. I do feel confident this time though.

I've just received another shipment of these boots and sandals in other colours and they are just gorgeous. The bunny slippers were purchased for Greta, who is currently wearing night clothes. I had been tossing up about making Christmas clothes, but I have some other projects on the go so I may not get round to it. I shall look forward to seeing yours.

Great shoe choices and fabric's. I've been making Kilts, a first and crocheting a large blanket ( not for the dolls ) , always takes me ages to start things and can take even longer to finish ! But it's lovely when something does get completed

DeleteReal leather...I remembering toddling off to the leather factory about 6 blocks away with the neighbor boy and begging for scraps...I got lovely red kid leather(I didn't know that then) and made shoes and a purse for my Sweet Sue doll (circa 1955 or 6)...We also got strips to make sling shots...lol. But we were Dead End Kids back then...sling shots, tire rubber guns and of course green apple wars. That's what happens when there are more boys on the street than girls. !
ReplyDeleteAh! So you were a bit of a tomboy then Sandi? Pity the kids of today are all stuck on their phones, they miss out on so much fun. I remember billy carts down the hill, climbing trees, going for long walks and riding bikes with the other kids in the neighbourhood. 😘
