Very disappointing as far as I'm concerned. They come like this.
The colour of the face doesn't match the body, the face is much more insipid pink, though the eyes are set, not painted. The body is hollow and feels cheap, but the hair doesn't feel too bad.
The shoulder, hip and knee joint bends well, but the ankle, elbow and wrist were far too stiff for me to budge. The head turns only. The clothes are fair, however, they have the really horrible, cheap, toothy version of Velcro. Shoes are plastic and the glasses are just brass coloured wire.
I shan't be keeping these dolls, they are being returned for refund today.

Oh what a disappointment! Cheap velcro is the worst, but the clothes look nice from what I can tell and the dolls aren't ugly per se, but if the plastic feels cheap, the hair is not great and the color doesn't match well, then there's that.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good experiment though, imagine if that would have worked! At least there's an option to get a refund.
Just goes to show looks can be deceiving. They would probably be good for kids, but definitely not for me. Their refund policy has been good so far, I have returned other things in the past and received the refund as soon as they have had a post office update.
DeleteToo bad they didn't turn out well. AliExpress ones can be okay, although I've never bought a BJD type doll there.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll be sticking with suppliers that I know are proven from now on, then at least I know the quality before hand, even if I have to wait longer.
DeleteI see a lot of these dolls when I go thrifting, and it's no surprise! Those glasses that come with the pink girl on the right look kinda cute, though!
ReplyDeleteI'm not at all surprised, they are not very nice. Oh the glasses are just wire, you could make the easily enough yourself. I do have some plastic ones coming which I will post pics of when they arrive. 😘
