Gloria Arrived Today

I just had to share a photo of her, she is so pretty. Her face-up is perfect and just as I had asked.

She came with her eyes, wig, dress, shoes and two extra pairs of hands.

One of her eyes looks like it may need adjusting, but that's not a big problem. I do hope 5StarDoll does bring out some new dolls. I did email them and they replied, to say they had hoped they would be ready to put up on their website in April, but things had been delayed. I guess we'll just have to keep checking in.

Also Obi arrived, fortunately I had clothes for him, otherwise he'd be on here naked!

Isn't he just the cutest little elf you've ever seen? That brings my Fairyland tiniest elves up to five, so that will have to do. Personally I don't think Misty could look after any more boys.  🤣

A Day at The Tailors

Remember this story ~ Finding Ferny Dale ~ which I posted back in August this year?

I continued writing the story without photos . . . however, as I was writing, I found myself picturing it in my mind. It was this little story which inspired me to make the Tailor Shop diorama which I am still currently working on.

As it is taking me longer than I anticipated and with Christmas looming, I thought rather than make you wait, I would share the story with you today, and hopefully it will tide you over until I complete my little diorama.

When the the tiny travellers arrived at the local tailors shop, they asked Mr.Tailor to make a new suit of clothes for Ferny to wear. Unfortunately he wasn't feeling too well, as he had hurt his back while bending over his cutting table. So rather than take a series of measurements, which was normally the case, Mr. Tailor asked Ferny to try on some prêt-à-porter clothes.

The first set he tried on made him look a little effeminate, what with the funny little skirt around it. The second felt a little too bulky, as if the cloth was more suitable for winter than spring.

Ferny was frustrated by having to continually try things on and take them off again, that he was beginning to wish he hadn't bothered to come to the tailor at all. If he was to have new clothes, he wanted them to fit perfectly and feel comfortable to wear. It was also important to Ferny that his outerwear should all be of the same fabric and in a colour that would blend with his forest surrounds.

It was then he spotted, hanging on a peg at the back of the shop, the most attractive pair of breeches that Ferny had seen all day, and with a matching pixie hat to boot! "That's what I want!" he exclaimed, pointing his finger in the direction of the clothes.

His three little companions and Mr. Tailor turned to look at what Ferny was pointing at. "Oh those old things" Mr. Tailor replied, "I made them long ago when I was only trainee tailor". Ferny didn't care when they were made, these looked perfect as far as he was concerned.

Misty was becoming impatient and said, "If that's what he wants, then let him try them on for size." Mr. Tailor nodded, took them of the hook and handed them to Ferny, who went into the changing room once more. This time he was really happy when he came out, dressed in a smartly striped outfit that fitted like a glove, so extraordinarily happy in fact, he couldn't stop smiling. "It's like these clothes were made for me" he beamed.

"Well looks like we have a winner, don't worry Mr. Tailor, it doesn't matter how long they have been made, will pay for them just the same" said Mossy from his chair by the window. So Mossy put his hand deep into his pocket and took out five gold coins which he handed Mr. Tailor. Then the four tiny elves thanked Mr.Tailor and left the store.

As the four walked hand in hand up the cobbled street towards Beechwood Hall, Missy sighed "Well I'm glad that's all over, now we can concentrate on celebrating Hollow's birthday", which was the reason for Ferny's visit in the first place.

Finding Ferny Dale

It was early when the three little elves left their home in the Elvin Forest to go looking for Misty's cousin. The sun had barely risen above the horizon, but they knew if they didn't make the most of the daylight, they may never find Ferny.

When they reached The Ridge (which was really just a moderate mound of grass) Hollow climbed high in an old tree to see if he could see Ferny, but he was nowhere to be seen. And so he climbed a little higher. "Ah hem" he heard, looking all around and seeing no-one, he climbed even higher still. "Ah hem, are you looking for someone? Or are you just climbing all over my limbs for fun?" 

Only then did Hollow realise, it was the tree that was talking to him. "Sorry Mr.Tree, we are looking for Ferny Dale, have you seen him?" he asked. "I don't know a Ferny Dale, so how would I know if I had seen him", the tree replied in a very deep voice. "By the way, I am not Mr.Tree, I'm an Ent and my name is Longbough".

It was then, as he was decending from the Ent, that Hollow saw Ferny hiding below. "Oh there you are!" he decalared. Ferny looked up at him, slightly pink in the face and feeling very embarassed by his situation.

 

Ferny had found a small leaf on the ground with which he managed to cover himself, so he didn't appear to be completely naked. He was pleased they had come to rescue him, but didn't know what to say or do. However, he managed a little smirk in acknowledgement of Hollow's comment.

Misty was very annoyed with Ferny and chastised him for being so stupid to lose all his luggage, even though she did feel a little sad he had been robbed of all his belongings, apart from his specticals and bow tie.

Poor Ferny felt such a fool and really didn't want to come around from behind the Ent at all.

"Stop messing about Ferny, we need to get you home so we can visit the tailor and purchase some new clothes for you", said Misty in her sternest voice. She knew she needed to be forcefull with her cousin or he'd never come from behind the Ent.

Then Mossy tried coaxing him, "You don't have to be embarrassed, it's not like you got robbed intentionally. I mean no-one wants to stroll around in their birthday suit, even in the Elvin Forest."

Finally Longbough chimed in, "I really don't now what all the fuss is about, after all I loose all my clothes every Autumn and no-one cares about my nakedness". After being encouraged by Misty, Mossy, Hollow as well as Longbough, he agreed to go home with them.

So the four little elves said their goodbyes to Longbough and headed home to Beechwood Hall, via the village tailor of course.

The Love Is Catching

Hollow Log, Misty Dell and Mossy Rock live in Beechwood Hall, deep in the Elvin Forest and were expecting Misty's cousin to arrive today. However, he lost his luggage enroute, was then robbed of his clothes, has no money to catch a bus and even if he did, he's too embarrassed to be seen naked. The only thing he managed to save was his bow tie and spectacales. So now they are on their way to rescue him.

Hollow: "Will you please stop kissing me!"

Misty: "But I like kissing you,  you're very sweet to help me and my cousin."

Mossy giggles.

Hollow: "Look here Misty, you can hold my hand if you like."

Misty: "Okay, but I'd still rather kiss you."

Mossy: "Now you've both sorted that out,we had better get moving."
Hollow: "Yes Misty, we need to find your cousin, before he freezes."
Misty: "Well he's been very silly to lose his luggage!"

Now I wonder what's in store for these little travellers next . . . can you guess?

Photoshoot: Halloween

Firstly,  I'd like to thank everyone who left messages with good wishes, it really meant a great deal to me. I am slowly getting back to normal and will get round to reading all your blogs over the next few days. In the meantime, here's a photoshoot that I took before my sabbatical.

Nanette: What was that?

Mossy: Only me, I didn't mean to startle you.

Nanette: Where did you come from?

Mossy: Come closer and I'll tell you.

Nanette: Oooh you kissed me, now that wasn't fair!

Mossy: Happy Halloween!

The New Bath

Hollow: "Hey Mossy, come look what I found!!"

Mossy: "Oh dear Hollow, you're gonna cop it now! Misty will hit the roof!"

Misty: "Get out of that bath Hollow! Can't you see by the size, it belongs to the PukiFees?"

Hollow: "Geez Misty, how was I supposed to know? I just thought it was a bath big enough for all three of us to bathe in."

Mossy: "Told you so."
