It's Friday and I am all pinked out!

So nothing to share today, I shall be taking a small break while I focus on other projects.

However, I will be keeping an eye on you all, even though I won't be posting for a while.

Inspiration on IWD

It's also International Women's Day 2019. The day is aimed at helping nations worldwide eliminate discrimination against women. It also focused on helping women gain full and equal participation in global development.

Purple is the traditional colour to wear on this day, however, PINK will have to do today . . . it's Friday!

Here's a handful of inspiration for the seamstresses who enjoy sewing for their dolls.

Pretty Pink Porkers

Of all the animals in the world, my next favourite after dogs and bears, are pigs. They are so intelligent and funny, that today I thought I'd share a few of my favourite little PINK pigs that I have seen on the internet, with a few of my own captions. :)

Keeping It Simple

Just a few PINK birdies from downunder in the land of Oz!

PINK Galahs (above) are found in all Australian states, and are absent only from the driest areas like the far north of Cape York Peninsula. It is still uncertain whether they are native to Tasmania, though there are records of them dating back to the 1840s. We often see them in our park across the road, and they are common in most urban areas.

The Major Mitchell's Cockatoo (female left & male right), are also known as Leadbeater's Cockatoo or PINK Cockatoo. It is a medium-sized bird restricted to arid and semi-arid inland areas of Australia.

The Spotted Dove with its puffy PINK chest and vibrant PINK tootsies, is native to eastern Asia, and was introduced into Australia in the mid 1800s to early 1900s. They are now a common sight throughout eastern Australia as well as major towns in southern and south-western Australia. We often see these birds nesting in the trees in our garden and they can be quite noisy when courting.

The pretty PINK Robin is a small song bird, native to south-eastern Australia. Its natural habitats are cool temperate forests of far south-eastern Australia. I have only seen this bird IRL once in my life, when visiting the Otway National Park. Even though it's brightly coloured, its tiny so you are more likely to hear it, than to see it.

It's Time!

Yes, it's time for another . . .

THINK PINK IT'S FRIDAY!

Today it's for all the lovely caring mothers who cook for their family every day of the week and for those of you who simply just love to cook or bake!

What would look better in the kitchen than a PINK refrigerator!

 With a matching PINK oven!

And pretty PINK saucepans to cook with.

Of course you couldn't begin to cook without PINK knives to chop the meat and vegetables. 

 A stylish PINK mixer to make some lovely cupcakes with PINK icing, would be nice too!

 

If you're going to bake, you would probably need some PINK measure cups as well.

Of course you couldn't possibly get through the day, without a PINK kettle/jug to make your tea/coffee.

And lovely PINK spotted mugs to drink from.

Then after you've done all that, you can finally sit down and enjoy your cuppa with a yummy PINK strawberry cupcake . . .

Coming Up Roses

Perhaps not all pink, but these roses do make me feel happy, just as pink and Fridays do.

I hope they make you feel happy too!

If you are buying rose bushes for your garden how do you choose them? For scent? For colour?

The man of the house advises, "Always buy your roses after a shower of rain."

"That way you can tell the ones that are going to look bravely up from their stems come sunshine or shower, from those that will droop in a bad summer."

My favourite rose is Double Delight . . . it has the most beautiful old fashioned rose perfume, just like potpourri . . . and reminds me of my grandmother.

Heavily flushed and edged carmine to red. It begins with a red bud opening to this lovely bi-colour and then fades slowly to cream with a light pink edge. Bushes are of medium size, of good health and vigor with long strong stems and a strong fragrance.

Double Delight is one of the World's favourite tea roses, and was inducted into the Rose Hall of Fame in 1985.

Sharing a Story

We often hear tell of "The Little Black Dress", but today I would like to share a wee story from "The Ol' Pink Bag". Of course each of the bags shown below will have it's own story to tell.

The Ol' Pink Bag: "I'll just tell you a little about me. See the one in the top row centre, #2 that's me. I'm quite business like and carry my owner's diary, her note pad, car keys, purse, card wallet, tissues, lippy and sometimes even a sketch pad. There have also been occasions when she has managed to squeeze a doll or two in me as well."

Tasty Treats!

I bet you thought this post was going to be about food . . . well in a way it is, but not the kind you eat.

THINK PINK IT'S FRIDAY!

I'm beginning to enjoy Fridays for several reasons, but mostly because it's the end of the working week for most people and I get to share another photo with you. This time it's Macaron, my Fairyland PukiFee Coni who arrived August 2014.

Macaron is a little French elf from Paris, adores strawberries, the colour pink, especially pink ponies and it should come as no surprise . . . she has quite an eye for pink feminine style . . . hence the pink hair and clothes.

She lives with two cousins, in a small biscuit barrel deep in the Elvin Forest. Sometimes I wonder how they manage to get on so well together, they all have quite different personalities.

Cookie comes from Odense on the lovely island of Fuen in Denmark and was named after the Royal Dansk creamy butter cookies. She has become very fond of cooking cookies herself and eats most of them while they are still warm from the oven . . . you could say she is a little cookie monster!

Biscotti on the other hand, originally came from the Italian city Prato. Now she is the more serious one who loves books, art and clothes. She prefers to wear arty style clothes, as long as they are green and she has the most overwhelming weakness for Pistachio nuts.

I Have A Shoe Fetish

As you are already aware, I love pink shoes, so today I'm sharing some favourite styles for the dolls and for me.

The two on the right I have in my dolly stash, but now I have found the other two, they will probably find their way here sooner or later. :)

Just because I love them all, doesn't mean I could wear them all. I mean those on the top right are simply far too high . . . I'd probably break my neck!

She is wearing a PINK and white hand knitted dress made by me and pretty PINK sandals. Maisie is accompanied by her pet PINK pig Pork Chops who was made by Linda Benson of Benson's Bears.

Think Pink It's Friday!

THINK PINK IT'S FRIDAY!

I cannot remember when I first fell in love with the colour pink, but just looking at the colour makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over.

Pink roses with baby's breath (Gypsophelia) remind me of weddings and crystal vases filled with these flowers always look so pretty around the home.

Pink chocolate is scrumptious (when I can find it), to be absolutely truthful, I simply adore any chocolate and it's probably the biggest reason for me being a touch on the "cuddly" side!

Teddy bears make me happy and pink ones especially so, (I made this one and it's now living with a new mummy).

On very rare occasions, I will buy myself a pink outer garment, however, when I shop for lingerie I can't help myself and always end up buying pink . . . any shade of pink will do . . . and it applies to the whole bloomin' lot ~ bras, nickers and nighties! Until recently, I even owned a pink and white polka dot dressing gown!!

Pink sunrises and sunsets remind me how lucky I am to be alive and healthy, strawberry ice-cream tastes deliciously yummy, especially when eating it from a waffle cone and wearing pink shoes is a just a touch of rebellion against age, and is something which takes me back to my adventurous youth.

The depression glass kind of snuck up on me, I think it all started with some pieces my mum passed down and although I have some amber pieces in my collection, I tend to keep a sharp eye out for pink, I particularly like pink vases and small bowls with tiny feet!.

Typing this post got me thinking, so I looked up "pink" and apart from the obvious, these are the results of what I found:

* Purity Integrity Nobility and Kindness

* Buy something pink and find out just how you feel.

* Love; friendship; fluffy; warm; comfy; sensual; feminine; cotton candy; soft; caress; beauty; Breast Cancer.

* Pink is the colour of universal love. Pink is a quiet colour. Lovers of beauty favour pink.
