New Wigs

Monday I received my latest order of wigs from For My Doll. I couldn't quite remember which I ordered for who at first, but it finally all fell into place.

Four of them were for PukiFees. The pink updo was for Macaron, the yellow pigtails for Cookie, and the other two for the PukiFee faceplates I have yet to find bodies for. One 8/9 Carrot wig ready for Verity Delamore-Larkin (April Story Ishyllia) my #2 steampunk sister on order and a 6/7 Pink for Atargatis (Impldoll Baby Gela), my mermaid, who I am currently making a tail for.

Today, I gave Macaron (PF Dony), Cookie (PF Bonnie) and Biscotti (PF Cony) a sort of makeover. Firstly, I swapped Macaron and Biscotti's eyes over giving Macaron the blue and Biscotti the green. Next, I added kips to both their necks as they were nodding quite uncontrollably and then I trimmed and styled the two new wigs. Finally I brushed Biscotti's hair and added a hairclip to keep her hair in check.

I also finally received the boots that should have arrived 15 days ago. Makes you wonder about these postal services and whether they travelled via Austria to get here!

More Wigs

The FMD wigs I ordered last week arrived today and Gum Drops was so happy she could hardly contain herself! Finally she had her blue hair that she has been so patiently waiting for.

 

 

Gum Drops: Mummy do you think I look like Veronica Lake?

Me: I don't think she had blue hair, sweetheart.

 

Gum Drops: Not the colour silly, the style!

It makes me look a little mysterious, don't you think?

Me: I don't know about mysterious, but you certainly look very pretty.

 

I did order four wigs, but the others are for PukiFees that haven't arrived as yet!

(Now is that not surprising?) :)



Choosing Hair

My long awaited MiniFee Celine arrived today at lunchtime and I have been trying different wigs on her to see what suits her best.

I settled on the one below for the time being, but I am still unsure if it will stay or go. I have enough trouble deciding my own hairstyle, so this is no easy task for me!

 I guess she will tell me in her own good time, the dolls usually do. In the meantime, I'd certainly be interested in hearing your opinions on which one you think suits her best.

While the Sun Shines!

You've probably heard the term "make hay while the sun shines" well the sun has been shining all day here in Melbourne, it's been quite warm in fact. The type of day that makes you feel like spring cleaning . . . however, as I am not a great lover of cleaning, I spent the day sorting out all my wigs and trying them on my girls. 

I quite like the JPop wig on Angelique and the red one on Nadia, but I'm not too sure about the others.

And I love this JPop on Irene, but everything looks lovely on her, she has the most beautiful face and is my idea of a perfect model!

PukiFee Wigs

Today I attempted to make a couple of wigs from some faux fur I had hanging around in my studio. It's probably not the right sort of fur, but I had fun with it just the same.

This pink one reminds me of pink eucalyptus blossom, which makes Ziorina look more like Snuggle Pot or Cuddle Pie. :)

Not sure about this one at all!!

They are really quite simple to make and I will probably have another go down the track with different fur. And next time, I will remember take progress photos so you can see how easy it really is.

Curly Locks

Irene wanted a new hair do, so I purchase two of these wigs from JPop Dolls. They have the sweetest tiny tight ringlets I have ever seen, I love them!

The style is Shelli and this colour is French Chocolate, it's very dark, almost black and it looks lovely with Irene's skin. The other colour I chose was Cafe, but more on that one later.

Hope you are all having a great time with your dolls and projects. We are still up to ears in renos, but gradually whittling it down. Will make time Friday to do the rounds and catch up with you all.
