Everyone Needs Playtime

In our hectic, modern lives, many of us focus so heavily on work and family commitments that we never seem to have time for pure fun. Somewhere between childhood and adulthood, we stopped playing.

When we carve out some leisure time, we’re more likely to zone out in front of the TV or computer than engage in fun, rejuvenating play like we did as children. But play is not just essential for kids; it can be an important source of relaxation and stimulation for adults as well.

There doesn’t need to be any point to the activity beyond having fun and enjoying yourself. By giving yourself permission to play with the joyful abandon of childhood, you can reap oodles of health benefits throughout life.

Orla Arrived

Yes, she arrived on the 7th October, but I wanted to wait until I had my camera working again before sharing photos of her . . . and here she is. I was not disappointed with her in the least, I love her carrot red hair, fair skin and gorgeous blue green eyes.

She has a beautiful face and I'm going to enjoy taking photos of her, outside where the lighting is much better. These are surely not the best photos, they certainly don't do her justice and by the looks of them, I'm going to need a lot more practice in how to use my camera again.

I will be changing her dress and socks though. The dress has a Velcro closure which is bound to catch her hair and the blue socks could stain her very pale vinyl.

  2. Orla is stunning! Too bad about her dress since I think it really suits her, but I'm sure you will come up with something better for her. I love her pale skin, is very unique and it will look great in natural light photos.

  4. She's so pretty! Her look is perfect for autumn, which is the season we're in up North. The leaves are changing color, but we have a while until we get to the most beautiful displays.

    1. Thanks Barb. Perhaps I should rename her Autumn because her colouring is perfect for the season. I'll be expecting some photos then, it's a lovely time for taking dolly into the garden. 😘
