Everyone Needs Playtime

In our hectic, modern lives, many of us focus so heavily on work and family commitments that we never seem to have time for pure fun. Somewhere between childhood and adulthood, we stopped playing.

When we carve out some leisure time, we’re more likely to zone out in front of the TV or computer than engage in fun, rejuvenating play like we did as children. But play is not just essential for kids; it can be an important source of relaxation and stimulation for adults as well.

There doesn’t need to be any point to the activity beyond having fun and enjoying yourself. By giving yourself permission to play with the joyful abandon of childhood, you can reap oodles of health benefits throughout life.

A Feeling for What's to Come

After such a long absence, I had been wondering whether I should return to blogging at my age. Then a friend reminded me how important it is for older people to remain active in their hobbies and not to cut themselves off from friends. 

It's been good having a break, but I realised I am at my happiest when I am sharing my love of dolls with you; my kindred doll enthusiasts and blogging buddies. Of course finding Lina Spoon helped fire up the desire for more dolls as well, so here I am chatting away to myself and anyone who bothers to read my blog.

My goal for the rest of the year is to find a sibling for my little Lina Spoon, hopefully one with a toothy smile like Ludy or Zora Spoon.

The Zwergnase Spoon dolls with a 16-part structure were launched in September 2024 and currently there are nine faces, the newest being the three Elf Spoons, released in May 2026. Vinyl colours are Milk (previously called light porcelain), Cappuccino, Original skin colour and New.

Most of these dolls have already sold out around the world, so I have a feeling I will need to keep a close eye out to find one to keep Lina company.

    I agree, and I found that blogging keeps the joy alive, even if you never know who is actually reading. The Zwergnase are really unique. I love their little teeth!

      We just have to keep the faith Mia, I'm sure there are some "old" bloggers out there who will return to blogging after they get fed up with all the other "click and like" media.
      Yes they are and I'd like to add more of the Spoons, especially those with tiny teeth (my weakness when it comes to dolls). I'm glad you like them too. 😘

    I've been doing some deep research on geneology...and two ends of the family from the Scandinavian countries, one wing in Norway...so many of the /cappacino skinned towheads...and those milky grey-blue eyes...Num, she is adorable... Is the blue flowered fabric on Zora Spoon a bit of vintage/antique fabric. It looks so familiar to me? Love both of your sweeties! Sandi

      The fabric could well be vintage Sandi, the artist who designs these dolls uses some unusual fabrics and styles to dress the her dolls.
      Oh I don't own these two, although I love them both. I'm just keep an eye out for one similar. 😘

    These dolls look just your cup of tea. I love all of the fabrics that are used for these dolls. I am glad that we'll be seeing more from you. I love my collection, but it's also fun to share it with other collectors.

      Yes, me thinks so too Barb. I agree it's alway nice to see what other doll collectors are doing with their dolls even if they are not the same as the ones I collect myself . . . one gets two bites of the cherry this way. 😘

    Interesting dolls! Each one has such distinctive eyes, and they look so mysterious! ❤️
    As for blogging, I think it is a wonderful hobby. Blogspot gives us so many possibilities — we can create our own unique space that becomes an archive of photographs we can enjoy looking through again and again, a place to connect with friends, and simply a little corner of the internet where it feels good to be.

      Thank you Inesa. I agree, it can be fun looking back at previous posts, though I wonder sometimes why I still have a certain doll. Like most things our desires change with time. I think connecting with like minded people is important to one's well being and this is a space where it feels good to be.
